Katihar : Kailash Mahto,a leader of the ruling JD(U), was shot dead in Bihar's Katihar on Thursday, senior cop Om Prakash affirmed today.

" The incident occurred in the Barari Police Station area of Katihar. "About four to five shots were fired," he added. Prakash claimed that the accused would be arrested soon and that an investigation had been initiated.
